N EW YORK, NY — The 121st annual Coney Island Polar Bear Club New Year’s Day Plunge took place on Monday, with more than 4,000 swimmers braving freezing temperatures to honor the yearly tradition. For 121 years, some brave, perhaps crazy, New Yorkers have been plunging into the icy Atlantic in Coney Island to usher in the new year. This year, one of the PIX11 family took the plunge.
